Cherry Crumb Coffee Cake
Found this on the Volga-German Facebook Group. Reminds me of a cake mom made when we were kids.
Ingredients

sugar |

baking powder |
1/2 tsp |
salt |
1/2 C |
butter (melted) |
1/2 C |
milk |
2 |
eggs (slightly beaten) |
1 can |
cherry pie filling or flavor of your choice |
nuts |
1/4 cup finely crushed (optional) |
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees
- Grease 9x13 baking pan
- Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt & melted butter in a large mixing bowl. Stir together with a fork until crumbly. If you have large clumps, get your hands in there and break them apart.
- Take 1/2 cup of the crumbs out of the bowl and set aside and mix optional nuts.
- In a small bowl, whisk the slightly beaten eggs and milk together. Add milk mixture to the large bowl of crumbs and stir until incorporated. there will be small lumps in the batter.
- Pour into the 9x13 pan.
- Dribble cherry pie filling over the cake.
- Sprinkly the reserved crumb topping over the pie filling
- Bake at 325 for 40 to 45 minutes. Start checking at 35 minutes
- Remove from oven and place on cooling rack
- When cool, cut into squares and serve.
